AI x Future of Women in Korea
To mark International Women’s Day, I hosted a workshop spotlighting Korea’s declining birthrate and its long-term impact.
Using ChatGPT and Midjourney, we imagined life for women 50 years from now — visualizing shifting roles, social structures, and everyday realities.
Through AI-generated narratives and images, the session raised awareness of this urgent issue and sparked meaningful discussions on the future we want to create.

Character 1 : The 20-Year-Old Girl
Ji-woo works at a leading marketing firm in Seoul, where AI shapes every aspect of life.
Today, she visited a health center to complete her state-mandated ovum donation — a routine process where collected eggs are genetically screened and incubated to sustain the nation’s declining population. -
Character 2: The 50-Year-Old Mom
Hye-jin is raising her son, Min-jun, in a world where children are rare.
In 2074, balancing career and family means navigating AI-driven education and a home filled with elderly neighbors and robot companions. Min-jun’s closest friend is an AI — a reflection of the emotional and social challenges of this isolated, tech-centered era. -
Character 3: The 90-Year-Old Woman
Soon-ja lives in a future where AI and VR replace most human connections.
At 89, she looks 30 thanks to advanced beauty tech and recently had her first child via artificial womb. While the home robot cares for baby Younghee, Soon-ja is already planning twin siblings next year — continuing family life without limits.
First, meet Ji-woo and step into her world.

Scene 1: The Visit Ji-woo enters a state-of-the-art health center, greeted by the sterile yet welcoming environment, designed for efficiency and comfort. The signage subtly directs her to the ovum donation section, emphasizing the state-mandated nature of her visit.

Scene 2: The Donation Process Inside a clinically pristine room, Ji-woo undergoes the ovum donation process, attended by professional medical staff and advanced medical equipment that gently extracts ova with precision and care.

Scene 3: Gene Selection The collected ova are then transferred to a high-tech laboratory within the center, where scientists and AI systems work together to analyze and select genes of the highest quality for future gestation, highlighting the meticulous attention to genetic excellence.

Scene 4: Gestation machine Ji-woo stands beside a gestation machine in a clinical health center, viewing her top-rated genetic information on screen, a mix of pride and the stark, technological reality marking her state-mandated ovum donation.

Scene 2: Her Worry for Her Son Amidst the hum of her high-tech office, Hye-jin receives a holographic call from Min-jun's AI teacher via her AR goggles, displaying concern over his social skills, casting a shadow of worry across her face.

Scene3: Mom and Son argument Returning to their smart home, Hye-jin and Min-jun find themselves in a heated argument, silhouetted against the glow of digital screens, grappling with the day's events and their deepening emotional disconnect.

Scene 4: Min-jun's AI Comfort After the argument with Hye-jin, Min-jun retreats to the solitude of his room, where he seeks solace in the comforting presence of his AI companion robot, a personal confidant designed to understand and alleviate his emotional turmoil.

Scene 2: Eternal Youth Post-surgery, Soon-ja is seen living her life to the fullest, attending parties and enjoying moments that reflect her indomitable spirit and the rejuvenated energy of her youthful appearance. She dances, laughs, and socializes, embodying the essence of life at any age.

Scene 3: Motherhood at 89 In a cozy, technologically advanced room, Soon-ja gazes lovingly at her first baby, Younghee, who was born through an artificial womb. The scene shows a sophisticated babysitter robot tending to Younghee, gently cradling the baby and performing tasks with seamless efficiency, symbolizing a new era of family care.

Scene 4: Looking Ahead In a warm, softly lit room filled with baby items and futuristic planning tools, Soon-ja is seen researching and making arrangements for expanding her family. She is planning to have twins next year through the same artificial womb technology, a hopeful smile on her face as she envisions her growing family surrounded by love and advanced care.
